What comes through the door

Service repairs to all makes and models

That line has been painted across the front of the building on Mint Street for years, and it is still the shortest description of the place. Everyday servicing, the awkward diagnostic jobs, and a couple of things most general workshops send elsewhere.

Logbook servicing

Scheduled servicing on all makes and models, done to the book so your warranty stays intact. Same workshop, same hands, every time.

Repairs on all makes and models

The line that has been painted on the front of the workshop for years. Whatever you drive, it can come in here.

Diagnostics

A one stop shop for servicing, repairs and diagnostic needs. If a light is on and nobody can tell you why, that is the sort of job this workshop takes on.

ECU remapping

Ennis Automotive is a dealer for Advanced Vehicle Remapping. Tuning done by a workshop that also has to service the car afterwards.

4WD suspension

Heavier touring builds need more than an off the shelf kit. Coil overs, load carrying setups and the measuring that goes with them.

Roadworthy inspections

A straight assessment of what a car actually needs, and an honest answer about what it does not.

Not sure which of those your car needs? Ring the workshop and describe what it is doing. That conversation is free.

The workshop

Clean floor, straight answers

Four hoists, a scissor lift big enough for a light truck, and a floor that customers keep bringing up in their reviews. It is not showmanship. A workshop you can see into is a workshop that is happy to be watched.

Andrew and Mitch do the work. The same two names come up in review after review, going back years, which is the part that is hard to fake and hard to buy.

“The moment I walk into their workshop, I feel completely confident that my vehicle is in the best hands possible. There’s an immediate sense of trust.”

When the weight starts creeping up

Touring setups get heavy fast. Drawers, a canopy, water, a second battery, and the springs that came out of the factory were never asked to carry any of it.

In the workshop’s own words, off the shelf suspension kits often will not cut the mustard on a build like that. So the springs and shocks get matched to what the vehicle actually weighs, loaded, rather than to what the catalogue assumes.

What Wodonga says

4.7 out of 5, across 32 reviews

Every quote below is a real Google review, left by a real customer, in their own words.

I've trusted Ennis Automotive with every one of my vehicles for as long as I can remember, and Andrew and Mitch have been nothing short of exceptional every single time. From routine servicing to specialist care on my 1960 Holden Ute, right through to my brand-new recently purchased vehicle, the level of knowledge, precision, and genuine care they put into their work is second to none.

I went to get a roadworthy with a different mechanic, was told my car had failed the roadworthy, despite being very recently serviced and was issued a $1500 quote to have the “issues” fixed. After a phone call to Andrew, he squeezed me in for a second opinion, gave me a detailed rundown of my car (which was roadworthy) and did not charge me for their time.

I couldn't recommend Ennis Automotive more highly! Andrew and Mitch are always friendly, professional and accommodating. My husband and I have been taking our cars there for the past few years and have never been disappointed with their workmanship, communication, or the price.

Best Mechanic in Wodonga. Andrew goes above and beyond for his customers.

This is the best mechanics I have used for many years. The customer service is brilliant and he is just a really nice guy. The price was super reasonable for our Mazda 121 45k service at just over $300. They have the option for a courtesy car available too. Highly recommend this place.

A small business, deliberately

Ennis Automotive opened in 1995. Thirty one years later it is still a small automotive business on Mint Street, which is a choice rather than a limitation. You get the same mechanic twice.

What customers write about most often is not the workmanship, which they take as given. It is being told the truth: a detailed rundown instead of a quote, an honest no instead of a job, and no charge for the time it took to say so.
